Meet The Press in Hell (Hat tip: Christopher.)

This is the part where you go there. You won't be sorry. Why doesn't SNL do shit like this anymore?

SNL went off my radar a L-O-N-G time ago. The last two good eras were the Belushi and Eddie Murphy eras. After that-meh.

It would go back *on* MY radar if they started doing some serious political satire again. SNAP OUT OF IT! (Maybe Studio 60 holding their feet to the fire next fall will give them a kick in their complacency.)

SNL, frankly, should have been canceled. I've seen funnier shows dropped. I think it's WAAAY too late for them to snap out of it, Scott.

Know what I miss? SCTV. I could NEVER catch that show at the right times; it was so damned hard to find.

Nah--a show like that goes in cycles. Maybe Lorne Michaels will have to go in order for SNL to regain the funny, but I firmly believe it IS possible.

And, to be fair, there HAVE been a few funny things lately... That Chronicles of Narnia/Magnolia Bakery rap thing was hysterical. Al Gore's thing--also "of the good." Drew Barrymore did a cameo spoofing her no-bra appearance at the Golden Globes that had me nearly wetting my pants. What a good sport (now, if only she'd learn how to make a good movie.)
