It would go back *on* MY radar if they started doing some serious political satire again. SNAP OUT OF IT! (Maybe Studio 60 holding their feet to the fire next fall will give them a kick in their complacency.)
Nah--a show like that goes in cycles. Maybe Lorne Michaels will have to go in order for SNL to regain the funny, but I firmly believe it IS possible.
And, to be fair, there HAVE been a few funny things lately... That Chronicles of Narnia/Magnolia Bakery rap thing was hysterical. Al Gore's thing--also "of the good." Drew Barrymore did a cameo spoofing her no-bra appearance at the Golden Globes that had me nearly wetting my pants. What a good sport (now, if only she'd learn how to make a good movie.)
